Γιατί τα ψυχομετρικά τεστ στα χέρια των ειδικών αποτελούν εργαλεία, τα οποία αποτυπώνουν τις διάφορες πτυχές της ανθρώπινης φύσης. Βασισμένα σε διεθνώς αποδεκτές και εδραιωμένες επιστημονικές μεθόδους και μοντέλα, τα ψυχομετρικά τεστ μπορούν να δώσουν σημαντικές και αξιόπιστες πληροφορίες σχετικά με τον χαρακτήρα, την συμπεριφορά, τις έμφυτες τάσεις, τις ικανότητες, τα κίνητρα και τις προτιμήσεις του κάθε ατόμου.
The form, method of administration, and method of analysis of the results of each psychometric test depends on the characteristics or behaviours we wish to examine. Of particular importance are the reliability and validity of each psychometric test, as defined in the science of psychometrics, as they indicate the extent to which the results are accurate and representative.
Psychometric tests can be applied in a variety of circumstances, depending on the needs of the situation. Appropriate tests are used in recruitment processes, in assessing suitability for high-risk positions, in personnel assessment, in career counselling and career guidance, in coaching, in the clinical practice of mental health specialists, as well as in judicial contexts
