About the project
Sexual violence is a deeply disturbing social phenomenon, with serious and long-lasting effects on the lives of victims. Often, the complexity of the support system, the lack of coordination between the actors involved and the limited expertise of professionals lead to difficulties in access and quality of the assistance provided.
The "InSupport" project comes to fill these gaps by developing a model of cooperation and support that focuses on the needs of the victim. Through the collaboration of services, the creation of collaborative networks, the provision of specialised training and the implementation of cooperation and operational protocols, it seeks to transform the way frontline services (police, health, social services, NGOs) work together and respond so that victims of sexual violence have access to holistic support, with respect, confidentiality and care, ensuring that any re-traumatisation is avoided.
Why it is necessary in Greece
The InSupport project comes to address the lack of coordinated services, the lack of specialised support and the need to respect the rights of victims, as foreseen by the Istanbul Convention and the EU Directives.
